What the World Needs Most…

by: Linda J. Davis

Think of a person whom you greatly admire for their leadership and mission to make a difference in our world.

Does Martin Luther King Jr. come to mind for forever changing the separation of our nation and stretching our minds to think of black and white people equally?

Does Mother Teresa  come to mind for dedicating her adult life to caring for “the dying, the crippled, the mentally ill, the unwanted, the unloved?”

Does Mahatma Gandhi come to mind for freeing the Indians from British rule without the use of violence?

“Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain.”

I found that quote on a fortune cookie and it resonated so deeply with me. I’ve carried it with me ever since. Anytime I face an obstacle or feel overwhelmed, I think of that quote. This sentence gives me the reminder that I can do anything. And with God in our hearts, anything truly is possible.

Living in fear means you are living life in a ‘small’ way. We fear change, we fear opportunity, we fear our power … we were not put here to live small and live in fear.

How to to Overcome Resistance

by: Linda J. Davis

Have you been feeling very… stop and go lately? You are feeling an all time high one moment – motivated, getting stuff done, jazzed about opportunity. The next (almost within an instant sometimes) you feel just the opposite – discouraged, feeling down and unsure of yourself. There is a resistance that just won’t let you stay on that “high”.

Once the awareness comes in that there is resistance, we ask ourselves why is it so hard to do the smallest of tasks? Where is that coming from? Am I sabotaging myself from reaching my goals and what I truly want out of life? What can I do to get rid of this blockage?

Think back on some memories you have of when you surprised someone by telling them out of the blue how much you mean to them. How did that person react? Did you send them an email, a hand-written note, or call them on the phone? How did you feel before, during and after?

I bet 10 out of 10 times, that person was overwhelmed with emotions of gratitude and love. That kind of love heals the world you know…

…Give Back!

I tend to write articles around topics such as overcoming obstacles because that is generally what people are seeking and most open to receiving guidance. I have a deep desire to help serve and I gain such joy in my heart as a result. This energy allows me to keep spreading messages of hope and love to everyone I meet. My way of making the world a better place for our children.

Caine’s Arcade

by: Linda J. Davis

Today’s article is a little different in nature. I came across a fantastic video that made me laugh, cry, ponder and plan. Maybe you’ve seen it: Caine’s Arcade.

Caine is a 9 year old boy who built an elaborate cardboard arcade in his dad’s used auto parts store. The imagination, determination and joy this little boy has is amazing.

I invite you to watch this 10-minute video (it’s important) today:

As you watch this video, or after, I invite you to ask yourself these questions:

  • What in your life is as important to you as Caine’s arcade?

“The best way out is always through.”

…Robert Frost said this, and he was right.

We have all heard advice about making each moment count, living life to the fullest, not taking the good times for granted… but do we really live that way? We get so busy in the routines of life that sometimes we forget to slow down and be present to fully experience our surroundings.

One of the Greatest Miracles

by: Linda J. Davis

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own experience of life – work stress, family fun, love – that we aren’t always aware of our surroundings. You have people in your life right now, possibly your best friend or your sister, who are experiencing a very challenging time and are secretly praying for your awareness to support them when they need it most.

It is human instinct not to beg for support (even if we want to shout it from the rooftops). We don’t want to burden anyone, we don’t even know if we are ‘good enough’ to request such support. So really, we would be wise to understand that everyone around us needs us more than we initially think they do.

The Power of Belief

by: Linda J. Davis

“Believe in yourself and in the power you have to control your own day to day.

Believe in the strength you have deep inside you and let faith show you the way.

Believe in tomorrow and what it may bring.

Let a hopeful heart carry you through, for things will work if you trust and believe there is no limit to what you can do.

The only one that holds you back, is you.” – Jim Maez

We each have the POWER to BELIEVE anything we want. We can choose to believe in Santa Claus, love, failure, good health, luck, faith… ourselves.
